Shirley Was Healed From Her Fibromyalgia Pain

Some years ago I was experiencing what I thought was arthritic pains in my large joints and then it spread to all the small ones as well. The pain then spread to soft tissue and in particular large muscles like back, legs and arms. On many trips to the GP I was told I had a virus and was prescribed courses of antibiotics one after the other. This did no good.

My doctor was not prepared in those days to consider a diagnosis of fibromyalgia so I was referred to a Pain Clinic. After nine months of appointments their reply was that the condition was degenerative and they could offer no help because I could only expect to get worse as I got older.

Because of my born again experience in 1979, when I was baptised and Spirit filled speaking in tongues, I knew that God was a merciful God who answers prayer. I was healed of drinking, smoking, drug taking and an eating disorder in the baptism tank, so I decided to put my trust in the healing God of the Bible and pray about my situation.

After that, I felt a peace in my life about not concentrating on the pain and took the attitude of “pray about it and forget about it”. One month later, I heard a story about a woman who was healed of fibromyalgia at a Revival Fellowship meeting and I noticed that all the pain had gone from my arms, legs, neck, back and everywhere in fact. I felt humbled. I had put my trust in God and He had answered my prayer without my even knowing it. What a merciful God we have.
