Graham was Healed from Bowel cancer

When I was 17 years old, I had just joined the RAAF to start my career as an aircraft engineer. I hadn’t thought much about God and wasn’t really searching for any answers to life, but when I heard that I could have a personal experience with God, that got my interest. I was challenged to “give God a go”, which I did. I prayed to receive the Holy Spirit, was baptised by full immersion and spoke in tongues as the evidence that God had filled me with the Holy Spirit. That single experience took me from not knowing God or His plan and purpose for mankind, to knowing exactly what it was, in an instant of time.

The RAAF lifestyle was certainly a challenge to walking with the Lord, but with the Lord’s help, I was able to tell others of my experience and some of them also came to know the Lord as well. To have the Lord with me through those teenage years and on into adulthood was the best foundation anyone could ask for in life.

In July 2013 I was diagnosed with bowel cancer, which was quite unexpected, as there was no family history or any other lifestyle choices that would have put me at risk. Even though it was a difficult time to deal with all the medical information being given to me, I knew that the Lord would heal me from the cancer. After numerous tests to determine the size and exact location of the tumour, the doctors recommended a course of treatment of radiotherapy/ chemotherapy, followed by an operation to remove a section of bowel either side of the tumour. The doctors commented that the best that could be hoped for after the full treatment cycle, was for the tumour to shrink. The treatment commenced in August, however I was particularly sensitive to the chemotherapy and only managed to receive half of the recommended dose. In September a PET scan showed that the evidence of cancer cells around the tumour site was “barely negligible”. In November the operation went ahead to remove the section of bowel and the associated lymph nodes, which were sent away for pathology tests. The doctor saw me three days later with the results, in his words “not a single cancer cell in the removed bowel section or lymph nodes”. Praise the Lord for His healing mercies & continued provision in my life.
