Julie Was Protected From Ovarian Cancer

I hadn’t been brought up with religion and I’d never been to any church meeting until 27 years ago. That day I got baptised because I knew the Lord had been baptised and I believed in Him. I remember thinking “Well Lord, I really want this if this is the truth,” and as I came out of the baptism water I spoke in tongues. It was a great infilling. I was so impressed when I realised what I had. This was what I’d been looking for all my life.

At first I was very torn by opposition even though I knew it was the truth. I could see that my husband was happy but I was miserable. Then about 18 months later I gave the Lord my all. I went to meetings, I started to pray and I got this incredible desire to serve the Lord. From that time the Lord totally healed me of drinking, smoking and swearing. The Lord took it all away from me. I was totally turned around. That was 27 years ago.

I’d had a problem with my bladder but the scan revealed a shadow on my left ovary. Further tests showed no signs of cancer. However five months later doctors decided to give me a complete hysterectomy. The surgeon afterwards said my left ovary was not normal and sent for tests. Before I had the operation I knew that the Lord would have His hand on me. We’d seen wonderful miracles over the years. The tests results showed that I’d had a high level benign, borderline malignant cancer, and that it had spread to the other ovary. It would have been life threatening if left; they don’t normally find this type of cancer in time. I didn’t need chemotherapy because it hadn’t spread to other parts of my body.

Specialists tell me I’m very lucky. I tell them that the Lord had His hand on me.
