Lachie is Healed from Eczema and Several Anaphylactic Allergies

When Lachie was a baby he had really bad eczema, dermatitis and very severe cradle cap on his head. We were in and out of hospital with it getting infected and he was constantly on antibiotics. When he was eight months old, he got a drop of milk on his skin, straightaway he started sneezing and developing a rash on his chest down to his waist, it went upwards, all the way to his head, his face started to puff up and then I couldn’t see his eyes any more.

I was very scared, so the only thing I could think to do was have prayer to the Lord very fervently, I hurriedly bathed him and kept praying, and his symptoms subsided. I’d never heard of an anaphylactic reaction before but that was what Lachie had that day.

Later, when we finally saw an Immunologist, she said it’s a miracle that Lachie was still alive. After giving him skin-prick tests for all the foods under the sun he was allergic to eggs, nuts, dairy, soy, wheat, gluten, peas and corn. He was even at risk of an anaphylactic reaction to the smell of these foods cooking or touching his skin. That made life very hard. I prayed about it a lot. I ended up ringing the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Allergy Clinic about recipes for his meals. They said “Wow, you sound really calm for a mother who has to deal with so many life-threatening allergies”. I could only put it down to the Lord giving me peace.

The Lord has blessed him with a smart brain, so he’s able to retain information very quickly and remember it, and he’s pretty much top or second-to-top of his class. He is no longer on immune suppressant medications for eczema and has healthy looking skin. He has been told he doesn’t have to see the dermatologist anymore! He’s the healthiest he’s ever been.

Lachie’s a happy-go-lucky kid who just loves mucking around, he’s always making lots of noise, and he’s full of energy. His allergy to soy, wheat, gluten, peas and corn is gone. While he hasn’t got the complete victory yet, the Lord is really working in his life.
