Lyn was Comforted by the Holy Spirit Through Losing Her Husband

We came to know the Lord in April 1985. I was always a believer in God and tried to live a good life, but it was not until I was told the gospel, after my husband John’s accident, that I truly realised how important it is to have God working in my life. I never knew about the healing powers of the Lord or the provision, comfort, strength and knowledge that receiving the Holy Spirit would give me. I was baptized under water at my first meeting and received the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues six weeks later. John was also baptized and received the Holy Spirit too. He was left a quadriplegic after his accident and that naturally involved me in a 24 hour a day job to care for him. The Lord blessed every aspect of it. John had an amazing life over the following 25 years until he passed away. He was able to go to the meetings with me and read or listened to the Bible at home. He was often rejoicing in prayer to the Lord during the day. He had very few hospital visits over all those years, which was totally miraculous.

The Lord gave me strength and kept me well. I only had minor illnesses which the Lord healed immediately with prayer. I never had problems with my back and even though I got tired, frustrated and a bit low at times, the Lord always pulled me through. When John passed away I had such a peace and comfort, I knew he had his salvation and was safe in the Lord’s care. I praise the Lord each day for His love and also the love and help of my assembly. John and I would have been lost and lonely without Him and our fellowship.
