Peter & Kerry's Marriage was Healed

I promised Kerry I would change when we were married in 1978. I was a very heavy drinker and uncontrollable at family parties. In 1983 I worked 700kms away, 4 weeks away, one week home, leaving Kerry with our young children. I drank every day after work into the early hours and tried to hide this from Kerry. I was becoming violent towards her. I used to hide wine in the garage. I was a liar, a cheat, a deceiver and made Kerry’s life very miserable. Five years into our marriage Kerry was at the end of the road. She called out to God in desperation. Someone knocked on the door and told her about the miracles still happening today and about Mark 16, verses 15-20. We were both Lutheran but had never been shown these scriptures or seen miracles in the church. Kerry went to a meeting and was baptised by full immersion in water. 4 days later she received the Holy Spirit; she spoke in tongues and was instantly healed of depression. When I came home I saw an immediate change in her. She was happy, had strength, and told me all that had happened to her. I was very angry at first but, because of her change, went to a meeting and got baptised.

Then the miracles started. The next day I tipped my wine down the sink and was instantly healed of alcoholism. Two weeks later I was away at work in the bush and I spoke in new tongues as the Holy Spirit came within. When I got home I confessed all my faults to Kerry. It was not easy because I had done things she did not know about. It was amazing how God blessed us from that moment because I knew I had, and have, been honest to her since. We almost felt as though we should get married again; really understanding our pledge to each other, our vows, and I wanted to really live it. We praise the Lord for many years of amazing events; healings, deliverance from smoking, alcoholism, swearing, anger, selfishness and more. God has provided so much for us. Our children are all married. We have seven grand children. We have been married for over 40 years. This has only happened because the Lord healed our lives. Praise the Lord.
